The problem
Nine clinics across three districts shared a paper system. Files went missing, drug interactions were missed, and a previous digital attempt was abandoned because it failed whenever the connection dropped.
What we did
- Designed the app to work fully offline, syncing opportunistically rather than requiring a live connection.
- Built conflict resolution that favours the most recent entry and flags contradictions for review.
- Created a lightweight patient identifier so records match across clinics without a national ID.
- Trained clinical staff in small groups on their own devices.
- Added district-level reporting so management could see caseloads and stock without chasing paper.

“The previous system made us slower, so people quietly went back to paper. This one is faster than paper, so they did not.”
